GraphQL

Owl integrates with Craft’s GraphQL API so you can query events from headless front ends and apps. Like the Twig API, GraphQL access is included in the free Lite edition.

Querying events

{
  owlEvents(calendar: "concerts", rangeStart: "2026-07-01", rangeEnd: "2026-08-01") {
    title
    startDate
    endDate
    allDay
    calendar {
      handle
      name
      color
    }
  }
}

Schema

Owl registers an event interface with the fields you’d expect — title, slug, start/end dates, all-day flag, timezone and the parent calendar — alongside any custom fields defined in the calendar’s field layout. Occurrence queries return concrete instances within a range, mirroring the Twig API.

Permissions & tokens

GraphQL access follows Craft’s standard schema and token rules. Grant the Owl types to a schema in GraphQL → Schemas, then query the public endpoint or a private one with a token, exactly as you would for entries.

The bigger pieces a client asks for by name. Events, bookings, memberships, courses, reviews, a support desk, job listings and the rest.
